Our Autumn Colours event attracted walkers aged from 6 to 70 plus. Our route took us up Mill Lane to our champion pear tree, with stops along the way to look at features of the countryside around us.
Here we split into two groups, with ‘2 milers’ walking through the woods to enjoy their autumn sights and smells, and the hardier ‘5 milers’ continuing down to the Leam in beautiful sunshine, along its banks to Hunningham for a short but welcome refreshment break …
then up to Weston and back to Cubbington. The hedgerows were a picture, with colourful leaves, berries and nuts. On the last
section we had to contend with a thunderstorm …..
but the sun came out to greet us as we eventually made our way back to Cubbington under a double rainbow. You can see Karen’s stunning video clip of the rainbow here even if you don’t have a Facebook account yourself.
