Parliamentary Select Committee visits Cubbington

19 October 2014 By Rosemary Guiot

The Parliamentary Select Committee dealing with petitions against the Hybrid Bill for HS2 duly arrived in our area on October 7th.  The weather was kind, and they agreed to be driven up to the end of a field close to the pear tree and were able to see the wood, the pear tree and the beautiful view over the Leam Valley.  We were very pleased that they were able to appreciate the beauty of our countryside for themselves and felt that the visit went well.  Unfortunately the Committee were running behind schedule and most of our supporters who made the effort to walk up to meet them did not have the opportunity to talk to them.
