Many of you will have seen what HS2 is already doing to our countryside during “preparatory works” like surveys and “environmental” work. This is before Phase One construction has received “notice to proceed” – scheduled for the end of the year if the project gets past the Treasury.
Over 40 Parish and District Councils have called for an immediate halt to these preparatory works. Cubbington PC passed a resolution in March to support this call, but has not yet made it onto the list. One of our serving WDC councillors has agreed to press the council to sign up .. if she is re-elected.
