It was a lovely walk on Saturday: we started in drizzle, and came back in sun. 18 people and 2 dogs joined us. The pear tree was more or less in full bloom, lots more bluebells were out, the anemones, primroses and violets are still in flower and stitchwort is coming out in Mill Lane. The birds were in full voice: we saw skylarks and a woodpecker, among others, and heard woodpecker, song thrush, chiffchaff, blackcap and nuthatch. Someone spotted a couple of frogs in the pool at the western edge of the wood where we usually look for tadpoles. As a bonus, the mud is drying up.
