At our Action Group’s Public Meeting on May 2nd, the resolution to petition Parliament over the Hybrid Bill on HS2 was passed unanimously. A summary of our grounds for petitioning is set out here. Petition summary 7.5.14 v2 .
Cubbington Parish Council passed a similar resolution on petitioning on the same grounds last night. The vote was also unanimous.
As we need to show that we have good local support for petitioning, we are asking for your help to gain more evidence of this. If you are able, would you download and print off the voting form Vote_record_form_2014agm , ask your family and neighbours to sign it and notify us via Contact that it is ready.
Petitioning is not only the preserve of groups. Affected individuals may also present petitions, as this short video from HS2 Action Alliance explains. It isn’t as complicated as you may think.

The time allowed for petitioning is running out. If you would like to present your own petition, Stop HS2 are running a workshop to help and they will also deliver your petition to Parliament.
Details and instructions are as follows: the workshop will run from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday 18th May at Kenilworth Sports and Social Club, Upper Rosemary Hill, CV8 2PA. If possible, please bring a laptop (not essential, but preferable) with documents from http://stophs2.org/toolbox/10608-petitioning on it.
This is our last chance to have our say on what happens to our area if HS2 goes ahead. Let’s make it count!
